Hello lovely people 🥰 I’ve had lots of emails and messages asking for the 2025 calendar 🙏 I’m so sorry to share that I‘m not doing one this year 🙏
2024 has been a challenging year for me 🥺 In March I moved up to Yorkshire for a few months to care for my Mumma who had Pancreatic cancer, our world spun on its axis when she passed in May 🥺 I moved my Dad who had Alzheimer’s down to Cornwall after that, and we had a few months where everything started to look brighter. However he had a fall at the end of September and broke his leg, and then we were completely blindsided when he contracted an infection in the hospital and passed four weeks later. 😢 Every time I tried to pull together the calendar, it all just felt too overwhelming 🥺
I’m now slowly easing back into work after a family gathering last week to celebrate his life 🙏
Interestingly, last year, while my parents were both still with us, I signed up for a year long course at Newlyn School of Art which started in late September, just before Dad’s fall. So even though this year completely broke me open, what I’m exploring there in some of the new work I’m doing, whilst also unpacking everything I’ve learnt so far in my career and embracing play and ‘what if’, is slowly piecing me back together ❤️

#NewObsessionActivated 🙌 Who knew printmaking was so flipping rewarding!!! I’m obsessed!!! Our second weekend on the Defining Practice Course at @newlynartschool has seen us etching into dry point and getting familiar with words like scrimming and ‘Tone’ and me scouring eBay for one of those magical mangle machines with the spinny handle so I can do this in my own studio all day everyday!!! You know when you see something on instagram that you stop and look at, then click through and take a look, and then it pops up everywhere, so you eventually clickity click and buy one 🤔 well that’s what happened with the Lumos pen from @tomsstudio and I’m obsessed - I got a black one, and then the duo tip brass one - oMg!!! They are fantastic, and I’ve already refilled it a few times which has already saved me buying more fine liners 🙌🙌
